Day Off? More like Game On

How to discover what your mission teammates are really like: play Avalon with them on your day off. Fortunately at the end of the day we’re all still friends (right guys? … Guys?), just now slightly older and wiser about who to trust with ‘detailed social observation.’

But the day wasn’t all deception and deduction! The team really enjoyed hanging out at a local park for lunch, before hitting up Super Strawberry for dessert. The strawberry shakes get a big thumbs up from us!

Some of the team then went to visit the Bruderhof Christian community, getting to chat with them about their beliefs and see how they live out their convictions. We were thankful for the warm welcome we received, and for the tour of their community.

Other team members were keen to find the famous Glen Innes ‘Standing Stones’, the town’s number one tourist attraction according to TripAdvisor. We got to experience a long drive on a dirt road that led to… not the Standing Stones. Just the middle of nowhere. Oops. Oh well, we took a photo as a memento of the experience anyway. #citykids
(Turns out some people managed to get to the right place and take a photo of the actual attraction. I’ll let you work out which is which).

We’re feeling fresh and eager to jump back into mission activities tomorrow, with senior’s luncheons in both Glen and Guyra to kick things off. Please continue to pray for us as we serve the people of these towns and seek to share the good news of Jesus. This team is united in him, and even the most divisive game of Avalon is no threat to that.
